The proposed supercomputer, potentially developed in partnership with Oracle, would utilize Nvidia's H100 GPUs, making it at least four times larger than the largest existing GPU clusters. Founded last year to challenge OpenAI and Google's AI ventures, xAI requires substantial computational power, with Grok 2 already utilizing 20,000 H100 GPUs and future models projected to need 100,000 GPUs.
