At the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, President Donald Trump made several promises to the Bitcoin community as part of his 2024 campaign. He pledged to establish a national Bitcoin reserve and vowed to fire SEC Chairman Gary Gensler on his first day in office, replacing him with a more crypto-friendly figure. Trump also assured that the government would retain its Bitcoin holdings instead of auctioning them off. Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. also proposed creating a 4 million Bitcoin reserve if elected. While Trump's plan is less ambitious, it signals a significant Republican shift towards Bitcoin.
"Deadpool & Wolverine" shattered box office records this weekend, raking in $205 million domestically—the highest debut for both 2024 and any R-rated film ever. Surpassing expectations of $160-180 million, the film earned $233.3 million internationally, bringing its global total to $438.3 million. This success marks a significant milestone as the 34th MCU film and Disney's first R-rated installment. The previous R-rated Deadpool films were produced by 20th Century Fox, which Disney acquired in 2019.
